Tips to Increase OnLine Traffic

When it comes to building a web site or trying to increase on line traffic, there are some big, major things you can do and then there are some little details you can add. The interesting thing about web sites is that often the little details can decrease or increase on line traffic almost as much as the bigger things. Here are some of those small details that you may want to watch out for.

First, if you want to increase on line traffic, you need to have a web site that looks professional. With so many fake web sites out there that exist simply to steal credit card numbers or infect computers with viruses, people won’t visit sites that don’t look trustworthy. Even though your web site is completely legitimate, if it doesn’t look professional, you won’t see an increase in traffic. Making your site professional doesn’t mean you need to go out and learn the latest web site design program. It simply means avoiding an over-use of keywords (i.e., make your web site text sound natural, not like it was written for robots), having no grammar or spelling errors, and using colors and fonts that are easy to read. While a web site with flashing red text might seem like an attention-grabber, it really just comes off looking juvenile and irritating.

Another thing that makes a web site look unprofessional is having a lot of broken links. This also does nothing to increase on line traffic since you can’t get traffic to those specific pages of your web site. Be sure to check your links once a month or so, especially those that link to sites other than your own, to make certain they’re still active.

Likewise, be sure to test all java, flash, and other plug-ins and add-ons in several different internet browsers. What works for Microsoft Internet Explorer may not appear at all in Mozilla Firefox. You want to build your web site so that everyone can view it.
